Now men and women alike are making unsightly facial and leg veins a thing of the past, thanks to Cutera CoolGlide. No more painful injections! With the most advanced technology, a unique design, and a longer wavelength, the Cutera CoolGlide can safely and effectively treat both tiny superficial face veins and spider veins on the legs for both men and women of all skin tones quickly, safely, and effectively. Patients with dark, light or tanned skin can experience outstanding results with minimal bruising or blistering.

What can you do for veins?

We can treat the tiny red veins on the face called telangiectasia, the red or purple spider veins on the face or body, as well as red cherry angiomas. Our laser delicately heats these vessels to eliminate them.

How many treatments will I need?

The number depends on the quantity, color and size of the vessels being treated, but typically one to three treatments in 15 minute sessions are sufficient.

What does it feel like?

Patients may experience a mild to moderate stinging sensation as the pulses of light are delivered to the skin. A cooling mechanism is built into the handpiece to minimize the discomfort and protect the skin's surface. No local anesthesia or pain medication is necessary, but some may opt to apply a topical anesthetic or ice.

What can I expect afterwards?

Small vessels usually disappear immediately. Larger vessels, especially those on the legs, often look worse before they look better but will clear up over a matter of weeks or months. Ice is applied before, during, and after the treatment. Patient's are encouraged to continue icing the area for the remainer of the day after the treatment is completed. Patient's are also required to wear a Medical Grade Sunscreen daily.

Is it safe?

Yes. Hundreds of thousands of CoolGlide treatments have been done to date. As with all medical procedures there is a slight degree of risk, and we will discuss this with you thoroughly when you come in for your consultation.

Can anyone have it done?

The best candidates for CoolGlide treatments are those with tiny to mid-sized veins on their face or body. This treatment is not used to treat varicose veins. We will evaluate whether your veins are appropriate for this treatment (or another) at the time of your consultation.

How does CoolGlide Vein Therapy work?

The Cutera CoolGlide systems deliver pulses of light energy which cause the blood within the vein to coagulate, eventually destroying the vessel which is later reabsorbed by your body. Blood flow will then be redirected to veins deeper below your skin's surface, where it should be.

Who can be treated with the Cutera CoolGlide?

The Cutera CoolGlide features a unique design and long wavelength that allows treatment of patients of all skin tones. Your physician will advise you if CoolGlide Vein Therapy is right for you.

What types of veins can be treated?

The Cutera CoolGlide can remove unsightly veins and red "mole-like" Cherry Angiomas from almost all parts of the body. Small, facial veins (or "telangiectasia") can be treated quickly without bruising or complication. Spider veins can also be treated with excellent results. Knotty varicose veins are not good candidates. A careful evaluation with your physician will help you determine which vessels can be treated and the best course of treatment.
